American Water is proud to provide equitable educational opportunities for students across our national footprint through the Inclusion and Diversity Scholarship. The American Water Inclusion and Diversity Scholarship is awarded to students in the states where American Water operates. Applicants must self-identify as a member of at least one of the eligible underrepresented groups. Applicants must also be high school seniors or graduates, or current college undergraduates, residing and/or attending college in one of the states where American Water operates. They must be pursuing a certificate or degree in a non-medical STEM or business-related field, and be able to demonstrate a sincere commitment to inclusion and diversity in their lives, community, or education in a non-medical STEM major or a business major. Awards are renewable up to three additional years or until a bachelor's degree is earned, whichever occurs first. Assuming there are qualified applicants, preference will be given to applicants attending a historically Black college or university (HBCU) or Hispanic-Serving Institution (HSI).
